Retention by grouping property
New
Hi community!
I want to create a retention report by organization.
Each of my users are assigned an organization, and I’m interested the retention of different organizations in my product, not by specific user.

Hi @Tami Lavi - Great question! As a first step, if you have an existing user property to help identify each organization, you can create new saved segments for each organization similar to this example:

If you’re not passing in the organization name as a user property, but you’re indexing email, you could use a search for email > contains part > @organizationname.com as an alternative.
When creating a new Retention Chart, you can adjust the Compare Users section to apply one or more of your saved segments to your analysis.
This should get you going in the right direction, but do let us know if you have any follow up questions.
Hey, thanks for the answer, unfortunately I have hundreds of organization so creating a segment for each isn’t relevant :(
Also I’m not looking to compare between them, but only create retention of organizations similar to retention of users
Hi @Tami Lavi ! Thanks for your reply.
If you’re passing the organization name or ID in as a user property, you will be able to sort your Retention Chart by that specific property via the ‘Group By’ dropdown:

That said, the retention chart will only show the top five results so it may not provide you with all of the data you’re interested in. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to increase this limit at this time.
Additionally, I’ve passed your request for better retention reporting on the organization level over to our Product team to consider for the future. Let us know if you have any other questions we can assist you with.
