Clicks vs. Visited Page

New

I’ve been trying to see how often users are looking at a certain feature. I set the metric to Events and filter for a certain segment. I get a higher number when I set the event to “visited page is *feature page*” rather than when the event is “clicked text is *feature*”. Why is there a difference in numbers?

  • Hey @Emily 👋 Steven here with CXperts.

Sounds like you might have different text elements that could be warping your numbers, which would explain the difference in your metics, but I might have a curveball answer for you: if you’re looking for users who “see” something, FullStory doesn’t have eye tracking software BUT you can use Watched Elements to determine if something in your UI was rendered to users AND if it was served into the viewport. Here’s an example of what that might look like.

    Couple notes:

    1. Not Retroactive. Watched Elements aren’t retroactive, so you’ll want to get that instrument asap before analyzing.
    2. Maybe Watched. Just because the feature was served into the viewport doesn’t guarantee the user saw it, but it’s a pretty good proxy.

    Hope this helps!
