Does FullStory support custom event tracking on native mobile apps?
Hi there,
I’m searching through the docs to see if there’s an iOS/Android equivalent to the `FS.event` function that is provided on web via JavaScript, but can’t find anything. But there’s also nothing that states that custom event tracking is not possible on mobile.
This article states that there are equivalents for `FS.identify` and `FS.setUserVars` but there’s no mention of the `FS.event` method, which adds to the confusion.
If this is not possible on mobile, I’d love some input from the FS team on whether native mobile support for custom events is on the product roadmap and when it can be expected.
Thanks!

Hey @mentat-analytics! Thanks so much for reaching out!
You’re in luck because FS.event is possible on mobile! This Knowledge Base article, FS.event API - Sending custom event data into FullStory, includes information on mobile. For more detailed information, you can check out this article in our developer docs.
There is a limitation for Order Completed Events which are not supported in Native Mobile as objects and arrays within arrays are not supported.
Please let me know if you’re not able to find the information you’re looking for in these articles and I will help get your questions answered! 😊
Thanks @lindsay! I’d read the FS.Event page but the code samples there aren’t for mobile applications, since they’re in JavaScript. That’s what was confusing. But when I was looking through the third link you shared (developer docs) I was able to find what I was looking for. It’s under Mobile API > iOS/Android > Capture Events > Analytics Events.
As a suggestion, it would be great to show examples in that FS.event page of how a similar snippet would look in mobile, or just have links to the mobile docs for the equivalents.
Hey @mentat-analytics! Thanks for your reply!
I’m really glad you were able to find what you were looking for with the developer doc link! I understand how that would be confusing, and I really appreciate your feedback on including examples or links to the developer docs.
I have just submitted your feedback to our team. 😊
Thanks again, and please don’t hesitate to reach out should you have any other questions!
