Best Practices around managing environments

New

We have Fullstory fetching data from our website (external) and from our SAAS based solution (application). What are the Best Practices for managing these two different environments?

Currently I’m managing this by using the Segments but it will be best to have two different organizations, business units, etc. That because  it involves different personas viewing this information.

Thanks!

  • Hi @alon! Thanks so much for your question! 😊

When managing multiple environments, there are a few best practices you can implement to ensure a smooth experience depending on how you manage your environments. Here are a few options:

    1. Recording all sites into the same account: Utilize segments to help differentiate as you are currently doing. For example, you might have a "Site A" segment, which is a saved search of the form "Page host is ", and then another "Site B" segment that filters on another domain. You can also rely on defining personas and users to help with separation such as user properties. Lastly, utilizing Dashboards to separate the data can be incredibly helpful! Another tip is to ensure you are naming things correctly as it will really help when using the environment segment filter. 😊
    2. Using a separate account for each website: This option would mean each account would be totally independent (billed separately, have different quotas, settings, etc.) although you would still be able to use the same login to access all of them. Depending on your situation this may or may not be logistically simpler. If this is something you are interested in, I would recommend reaching out to your Account Manager for more information on next steps!

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have anymore questions as I’d be happy to help!
