Segments: Can you compare stored variables to dynamic text?

New

I would like to track users signing in to different accounts within the same session.

I have userVars containing the member ID and email which I would like to compare to the login text field when the user is on the login modal.

Is it possible to compare a variable to dynamic site content? Alternatively is is possible to store dynamic content and compare it to data entered later.

If  there is another/better way to achieve the result I am open to any suggestions. Thanks

  • Hey @Johan Kropff! Thanks so much for your question! 😊

I noticed our awesome support team has been helping you out with this one! I’m going to go ahead and share their answer here so other users with similar questions can view it as well!

At this time, I'm afraid we don't have a way within the FullStory UI to determine when the text entered into that 'Email address or Member Number' text box does not match the email address or user ID currently associated with the user profile in FullStory.

That said, on our Advanced and Enterprise plans, we offer a feature called Data Export: What is Data Export? In the 'Event Type' column of this export, we include Change type events, which includes events like a user adding a value to a text box. With the help of a data analyst or a BI tool, you could compare these change events with the "User Id" value listed for the user in that export to see if these values are different.

With Data Export, you're able to export this data within the UI as a CSV, JSON, or NDJSON file using one of our Search Exports or take advantage of our Data Export API endpoints (Using Segment Export API and Retrieving Data Export Extracts API).

Please don’t hesitate to reach out should you have any other questions!
