How to check if someone clicked on a particular button on a specific page

Answered

I want to check which of my landing pages are working by checking the number of people who click on a particular button, I am using the same button on multiple pages. I thought I could use “user activity” Visited URL and refine it by clicked text but refine filters don't have clicked text element only. If I put them as separate filter “Visited URL” and Clicked text, it is showing users who visited the URL but some of the users have not clicked the button on that page but on a different page.

How to get the number of users who visited that particular page and clicked on a specific button?

  • Hi Shri Ram! I actually find myself doing this kind of search a lot myself. 😅

You're going to want to use a dependent criteria in your search, like in my screenshot below. Set the event filter to be your click on the button, then click the first icon next to it to add the dependent criteria, which you'd set to be the particular URL where you're interested in seeing the clicks on that button.

And one other tip I'll share is if you wanted to instead see a list of all the URLs where that button is being clicked, you could create a metric like below with just the click event as the metric event, with the "Group by" option set to "URL".

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
