Uncover issues/insights at important CTA's using Segments/Funnels
In a perfect world, there are no bugs (or at least mosquitos). But unfortunately, we don't have that luxury.
So, how can we start to explore in detail ways to surface up User friction/bugginess/etc, especially during our important conversion points? Here's one idea:
Think of events that should have a 1:1 match. Something like:
Step 1: “Users that click on the Checkout Button”
Step 2: “Users that visit the /checkout_success URL path".
(modify these to suit your needs).
Create that funnel as a 2-step funnel flow.
Now, have a look at the dropoff and start with that segment of users (you could also build this out in Segments by excluding users that made it to the /checkout_success URL). This is surfacing the sessions where Users showed high intent to convert, but something caused them to be derailed. Fullstory now shortlists the sessions for you and team to investigate. If you're an Advanced tier customer, you can also leverage the Conversion Opportunity section to have a look at what Fullstory is surfacing up in terms of User friction/performance issues.
