How to track metrics on Changed Tab and New Tab Events?
New
How do you track metrics on sessions where the user changed tabs or created a new tab?
I’d like to show how much context switching happens in my software, but I can’t figure out how to create a metric on in.
Are there other ways people are finding this information?

Hi @Jmwroble5 ! Thanks for your note.
At this time, I’m afraid FullStory does not provide a way to search/filter for tab related events. You can find a full overview of the available user and event filters here: What user and event filters are available with OmniSearch?
We have definitely heard similar feedback from other customers and adding tab related event filters is on our product radar. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or suggestions we can assist you with.
Tym,
So, in this article, the tab events are available when playing sessions in FullStory session but from your comments above, it sounds like I cannot use them in developing a segment, correct?

Scenario 1:
What I want to see is pogo sticking behavior where a person gets an SRP(search results page) & opens up one or more Product Pages from that initial tab.
Scenario 2:
If it is not possible to do Scenario 1 currently, I would like to create an alternative scenario.
Any thoughts on that one?
Sincerely,
Esther
Hi @OddWyvern - thanks for your reply here!
That’s correct, tab related event filters are not currently available in Fullstory search. Users clicking the back button in their browser is also not an event filter that’s available in Fullstory, unfortunately. That said, I’ve passed your feedback over to our Product team for consideration.
In case it’s helpful, here are a few resources that might be useful to you as you continue utilizing Fullstory:
