Suggested Elements use the same interface as when manually creating an element, except the following will automatically be generated by AI:

- Name: Recommended label for the element.
- Description: A sentence describing the purpose of the element.
You can modify the suggestions or accept them as is. Click Save to Accept the suggestion or you can click Reject. Once saved, it can be used for analysis just like manually configured elements.

FAQs
How does StoryAI generate suggested elements?
Suggested Elements are created by analyzing Fullstory’s comprehensive session data. Events from sessions with unlabelled data are proactively analyzed and classified by StoryAI to produce suggestions. Learn more about Fullstory's approach to StoryAI.
How often are suggestions generated?
Suggested Elements are generated once per day. A max of 25 elements at a time will be provided. Suggestions can only be manually generated if all pending suggestions are reviewed.
I’ve already configured a similar Element as an incoming suggestion, what should I do?
Suggestions are only produced on components that do not match a configured element. If a configured element with the same purpose exists, it is likely that the existing element selector is too specific.
Common solutions include:
- Adding the suggested selector to the existing element, and modifying the name or description as is necessary. The suggestion can then be rejected.
- Saving both elements, and modifying their names to distinguish their purposes.
Do suggestions expire?
Suggestions can be reviewed as long as there are still events that are coming in, but will be removed from the list if an event with a matching selector has not occurred in over a week.
Are Suggested Elements retroactive once they've been saved?
Yes, with some exceptions. After you create or update an element, you can use it to search through all past and future Fullstory data. For example, if you name an element "Add to Cart Button", you'll be able to search past Fullstory data for interactions with the "Add to Cart Button" element, even for data that occurred before the element was named.
However, there are a few cases where elements that have been named are not retroactive. For Watched Elements, Heatmaps, Journeys, Metric Dimensionality Cards or Data Quality Monitoring, named elements only start showing up from the moment the element was named within in Fullstory. The same is true for the event log when viewing an individual session. While you can search for named elements retroactively, it's important to note that sessions captured before the element was saved will not show your new element name in the event stream.
