What is Data Studio?

Data Studio lets you visually define data objects like elements, pages, events, and properties. By naming these data objects, you can easily use them in search when creating segments or dashboards.

Where can I find Data Studio?

To start using Data Studio, go to Settings > Data Management and name any element, page, or event. You can also use Data Studio to manage existing data objects by selecting any existing element, page, or event.

How do I use Data Studio to create or edit an element?

  1. After selecting “Create" or editing an existing element, a modal will open to Data Studio.
  2. Select a part of your website or app that you want to label. For example, if you want to label your search button, you can search for the URL that contains your search bar. A page preview from the most recent session containing the URL will be generated.

  3. Select the element you want to label by directly clicking on it in the page preview. In this case, if you want to label the search bar, you can simply click the search bar to name the element.
  4. Fullstory will populate the CSS Selector field according to the element you’ve clicked in the preview. Below, you can review the other Pages that this CSS selector appears on to help in your validation. You can also select “Preview” to see the pages that the CSS selector appears on to confirm this is the element you want to label.
