Instructions

1. Within Guides and Surveys, navigate to Users. Under Segments, click + Add Segment. 

   • Segment name: "New Users".
   • Conditions: "Days Since Signup" is "less than" "2".

   

2. Create a tour and save it as "New User Welcome."

3. In Settings, under Where to show this tour, choose Only certain pages and user segments:

   • URL contains: The URL or page(s) you want the tour to display on. For new users, the Home page is typically a great place to start.
   • User segment: The "New User" segment that you want to see this tour. Alternatively, you can also set user properties, tag values, or other audience conditions.

   

4. In Settings, under Trigger, configure:

   • How to start the tour: Choose Automatically.
   • Show to user: Choose Just once.

   

5. In Settings, under Theme, choose the theme you want to use for this tour.
6. In Settings, under Priority, set the number high so that this welcome tour is prioritized over other content that may overwhelm new users in their first few days.

7. In Builder, click into the first tour step, and under Type, select either a pointer, slideout, or modal, depending on your branding preferences.

   

8. Add your content to the first step of the tour, including a welcome message and image or video that grabs your users' attention.
9. Add more steps if you want to highlight a few key areas of your site.
10. Preview and publish your tour when ready.
