Force Restart for mobile apps as a frustration signal

Who can use this feature?
- Available with Mobile add-on.
- Available for admins, architects, and standard users.

Note: the Force Restart signal requires SDK 1.44.0 or higher.

What’s the first thing you do when a mobile app isn't working? The usual steps are to background the app, swipe to close it, and reopen it. In Fullstory, you can search for frustrated users doing exactly that. It's a default frustration signal called Force Restart.

Using this event filter in any analysis will return the session data where a customer re-opened the app within 10 seconds of closing it previously. It's important to note that the session data that populates is only sessions where the app was reopened, not the "original" session where the app was closed. When watching any session with the Force Restart signal, you can access the previous session (where the app was closed) from the event stream on the right:
