Workforce is built on top of the Fullstory platform, providing a specialized interface for IT teams to measure the utilization and effectiveness of internal software applications. This means that all the robust session replay and analytics capabilities of Fullstory are accessible. This guide outlines how these two interfaces interact and when to use each.

Workforce and the Fullstory platform

  • Workforce as a filtered view: Workforce provides a focused view of Fullstory data, tailored for internal teams. It streamlines common support tasks and provides context-specific insights.
  • Fullstory as the underlying engine: The Fullstory platform is the core engine that captures and stores all user session data. Workforce acts as an application built on top of the Fullstory platform.
  • Seamless data access: Both Workforce and the Fullstory platform share the same underlying data. Actions and events recorded in Fullstory are reflected in Workforce, and vice versa.

Workforce on Fullstory

The Fullstory interface is where you go to configure Workforce settings that are not available within the Workforce interface and to dive deep into how employees are utilizing internal applications. Here's a brief overview of the kinds of things you'll do within the Fullstory interface:

  • Add and manage users: On the Fullstory Users page, add internal team members that you want to be able to log in and access your Workforce account.
  • Detailed analytics: Access a full suite of product analytics functionality, including dashboards, tables, session replay, metrics, funnels and more.

Note that apps must be configured in Workforce before detailed analytics will be available on the Fullstory platform. Apps that appear on the Workforce Discover tab, but which have not yet been configured, will not appear on the Fullstory platform.
  • Additional settings: On the Fullstory Settings page, access additional settings that are not present within the Workforce interface, including: your individual user profile, subscription & billing, data privacy, integrations, and more.
