Yes. For any search or segment, we'll provide a Segment Health Card.
The Segment Health Card will appear under your search results and will correspond to your current search query. In the left hand column, you'll see the average for the entire segment + time range. Additionally, you'll see the daily (or weekly / monthly, depending on how long your search time range is) averages plotted over time. Hover over the time plots to see a comparison of the same stat in the previous period (the dotted line).
In the example below, there are on average 92 total events in the sessions that match the search criteria. The average length of all matching sessions is 47 minutes and 43 seconds. The average active time of all matching sessions is 1 minute and 45 seconds. When hovering the events time plot, we can see that on June 15th, the average session length was 39 minutes and 22 seconds, but back on May 16th, the average session length was 1 hour, 9 minutes, and 6 seconds.
How is Session Length and Active Time calculated?
Average Session Length is calculated based on all sessions within the segment. It measures the total time from a session's start to its end, including periods when the user was inactive on your website or app.
Average Active Time is calculated from the sessions included in this segment. This metric measures the total duration of active engagement (scrolling, clicking, etc.) with your website or application, explicitly excluding all inactive time within those sessions.
Note: If your segment includes any event filters (such as Visited URL), the Segment Health Card will not make calculations related to these matching events. The filters identify which sessions are included in the segment, and the entire session data for these sessions is used to calculate the averages.
