Guest
Guests can view any session that is sent to them as a share link without taking up a seat on the Fullstory account. Within that session, they can view user details and session notes. They cannot access the main Fullstory UI, page insights, or any other settings. Learn more about this role here.
Explorer
An explorer role is best for users who need to watch sessions and view analyses, but don’t need to save new analyses in the account. Explorers can search for sessions, view objects and sessions, and even create analyses; however, they cannot save their analyses or add them to the account’s library.
Standard
A standard user is best for users who need to watch sessions and create their own analyses. They can create all objects and view all settings but cannot modify settings or use Data Export if enabled.
Architect
An architect role is best for users who need standard access, plus some admin-like access to settings used for data management. Architects have admin-like access to:
- Data Export (if enabled for the account)
- Elements
- Show/Archive Events and Variables in search
- View API errors
- Manage Integrations
- API Key
- Webhooks
- Managing Pages
Admin
Admins have full access to view and modify all settings in Fullstory and use Data Export if enabled.

For Enterprise Plans, you can also add on an Umbrella Account
The Umbrella feature allows you to manage multiple accounts from one screen in Fullstory. If you are managing Fullstory for multiple clients or websites, Umbrella may be the right feature for you.
Umbrella Managers: The Umbrella Manager has all the same access as the "Admin" outlined above, plus special Umbrella-related capabilities within your Umbrella account:
- Creating and/or renaming accounts
- Allocating Sessions for your accounts (current and newly added)
- Managing Team Members for each account (adjusting user permissions and upgrading existing teammates’ permissions to Umbrella Manager status, see teammates' last active date and add new members in bulk).
- Removing accounts
Note: Administrators for single-account organizations and Umbrella Admins for Umbrella organizations will receive automated billing notifications, such as the notice that indicates your account is out of seats.
Umbrella Managers, like account admins, have a lot of responsibility. For this reason, we recommend assigning at least two Umbrella Managers to an account.
