What user roles are available for FullStory teammates?

There are several user roles available for your FullStory teammates.

Standard: Standard users can view all settings, but will not be able to modify them or use Data Export (if enabled for the account).

Architect: The Architect role is available with a FullStory Enterprise plan. Architect users have access to all the features that a standard user has, but also have Admin-like edit access for:

  • Data Export (if enabled for the account)
  • Elements
  • Show/Archive Events and Variables in search
  • View API errors
  • Manage Integrations
  • API Key
  • Webhooks
  • Managing Pages

Admin: Administrators can view and modify all settings in FullStory and use Data Export (if enabled for the account).

Occasionally, you may also want to share FullStory insights with members of your team who do not have access to your FullStory account. For these users, you can enable Guest users in your account. Once you have enabled guest users, you can share session links with any email domain on your allowlist and guests can view those single sessions. Guest users also do not count towards your seat quota.

Guests: Guest users can only view sessions that are shared via share link. Within a specific shared session view they can see user details as well as share and see session notes. They do not have access to the main FullStory UI, search, segments, Page Insights, or any settings.

See the table below for a side-by-side comparison of each user role, then invite your teammates to FullStory to get started!

For Enterprise Plans, you can also add on an Umbrella Account

The Umbrella feature allows you to manage multiple accounts from one screen in FullStory.  If you are managing FullStory for multiple clients or websites, Umbrella may be the right feature for you.

Umbrella Managers: The Umbrella Manager has all the same access as the "Admin" outlined above, plus special Umbrella-related capabilities within your Umbrella account:

  • Creating and/or renaming accounts
  • Allocating Sessions for your accounts (current and newly added)
  • Managing Team Members for each account (including making someone else an Umbrella Manager, which will give them a seat in all FullStory accounts under your umbrella).
  • Removing accounts

Note: Administrators for single-account organizations and Umbrella Admins for Umbrella organizations will receive automated billing notifications, such as the notice that indicates your account is out of seats.

Umbrella Managers, like account admins, have a lot of responsibility. For this reason, we recommend assigning at least two Umbrella Managers to an account.
